Core features of MapVision
Web-based mapping for easy access, sharing & collaboration
Share interactive maps securely with your colleagues for better decision making. Then make them available to your customers to help them find their closest branch. MapVision can be accessed from any web-enabled device without the need for downloads, installs or updates.
- Secure online collaboration with colleagues using just a web browser
- Share maps universally through an i-frame on your own website
- Save maps as images or print them at up to 300 dpi resolution for offline sharing
Quickly create new maps or view existing geodata files
Whether you are creating your first postcode map from a spreadsheet, or replacing software such as Microsoft MapPoint, MapVision’s intuitive import process makes it easy to visualise geographic data in context.
- Make maps in seconds from CSV, or spreadsheet files using a simple 3 step process
- Geocode UK location data based on postcode area, district, sector, unit or even coordinates
- View common GIS files such as KML without the expense of a desktop GIS
- Bring together multiple data layers into one interactive mapping project
Display data intuitively with a comprehensive range of maps
Choose the right kind of map to make your data easy to understand at-a-glance. Plot customers on a map or create sales catchments for your stores. Maps are displayed on Ordnance Survey (OS) raster (background maps) at no additional cost. Postcode and administrative boundary data is available to add to your projects from the native data library. Mapvision allows you to:
- Create pin or point maps, catchment or heat maps, or group data into cluster maps
- Create catchment or territory maps based on native demographic data
- Use the drive time & distance tool to optimise territories
- Edit colours and theme your maps based on your own style or brand
Territory manager and catchment demographic analysis
MapVision’s inclusive territory manager lets you define, review, and edit territories in an interactive map environment:
- Create territories using freehand polygons, straight-line or drive-distance and time radii from a postcode
- Import existing territories as catchments from postcode data to analyse and edit them visually
- Display catchment values and demographic profiles as a table overlay to balance client numbers, or value, as you edit territories on the map
- Export catchments as spreadsheets of postcode sectors or share them as maps with your team
Optional modules
We like to keep MapVision as lean as possible so any business user can quickly benefit from its features. However, our professional mapping software has a range of powerful tools that we can add on to tailor the software to the needs of a specific business or organisation.
Address data within an area
We can help you to identify and target audiences for precision mailings, local doorstep activity, or simply to assess the impact of a local development.
- Entirely bespoke area mapping, from single points to custom polygon areas, or buffer lines around existing features
- Interactive maps with postcode and address counts for residential and non-residential locations
- Share map projects, KML polygons, or CSV address lists with your fulfillment house or other stakeholders
Demographic profiler & campaign targetter
The MapVision demographic module incorporates our P² People & Places data to make a powerful postcode profiling and indexing tool. You can evaluate your existing customers, assess potential new sites, target high propensity audiences, and reduce waste on your campaigns:
- Append demographic profile data to any list of postcodes to help tailor messaging or identify your ideal customer
- Index your customer profiles against national, or selected catchment values, to evaluate current penetration, target new areas, or select new retail sites
- Target high propensity areas for campaigns by defining catchments, choosing your target profiles, and creating a list of postcode sectors ranked by penetration
Call scheduler
Balance client needs and availability with that of your own field-team to create an optimal call-schedule. MapVision’s call scheduler calculates the most efficient visit schedule based on realistic travel times between each point.
- Define a working time and maximum number of calls each day to suit your field team
- Specify visit time or day for each destination, or set a default across your client list
- Set the length of working week to suit either clients or visiting agents
- Create a visual colour-coded point map for your field team or download an excel call list to work from.
Territory balancer
Choose the number of territories and whether you want them fixed to a set of locations (e.g. your sales reps or engineers) or at locations suggested by the system. You can then balance them, based on the built-in demographics (such as household counts), or your own data (for example client sites or sales volume). It has a number of features to help perfect your territories:
- Travel time balancing: Balance territories on just selected data, or weight them to allow for accessibility
- Select what is most important in territories: Choose to calculate for equal workload or overall minimum workload
- Allow for special cases: If there are known anomalies, you can select an area to be moved to another territory manually
- Fine-tune territories manually: Once you have saved your solution, the territories generated can be used and amended just like other catchments in MapVision
If you need to extend your mapping onto the island of Ireland we have a new option for you. Making use of Collins Bartholomew mapping and road data, you can import postcodes for Northern Ireland or GPS coordinates for all of the island.
- Background mapping
- Generate drive times from anywhere on the island of Ireland
- Because the road network covers the whole of Ireland, call scheduling (journey planning) for multiple teams across the island works seamlessly
- Point to point route planning
