Affinage use Prospex to connect clients with their closest distributor
Affinage International Hair Cosmetics are a global name in haircare products. For over 6 years their sales support team have been using our Prospex software to make it as easy as possible for their UK clients to source Affinage branded products from the most conveniently located reseller.

Affinage have an enviable distribution network through a large number of resellers within the UK. The challenge to having such a diverse, and rapidly growing network, is being able to quickly and accurately point end users - typically salons - to the best reseller for the required product. When Affinage approached Beacon Dodsworth in the spring of 2012, they were looking for a tool that would provide accurate results whilst decreasing the response time for their clients.
After considering Affinage’s needs, we looked to Prospex, our proven GIS product to provide the solution. We gave a demonstration of Prospex’ capabilities using Affinage’s own data, to show the real-world applications of our product.
A caller can easily be located in Prospex via their postcode. An Affinage agent is then quickly able to determine the best distribution reseller of the appropriate product. In addition to this core requirement, the original resellers’ territories created by Affinage are simple to maintain and amend. Resellers can specify their delivery areas which are built through Prospex’s vast geographies list. When a new reseller is created, Affinage are able to draw the reseller a territory, whilst maintaining neighbouring boundaries. The resellers can amend their territories at any time and Prospex allows for manual editing of existing boundaries.
Both new customers and existing clients that approach Affinage benefit from the fastest possible response and quickly receive accurate information. A prompt and helpful response on the part of Affinage increases the likelihood of initial and repeat sales.
In addition, Affinage’s reseller network can continue to grow and adapt to market needs, and this changing network is easily accommodated in the Prospex system. Thanks to the staff training that accompanies a Prospex licence, and the software’s intuitive setup, all of this functionality is in the client’s hands. There is no need to constantly call upon us for bespoke work, whenever a change is made to the reseller network - although, of course, we are there if ever they need us.
