Where's your nearest Skoda retailer?

Skoda has recently called on software developers Beacon Dodsworth to help them enhance the Skoda Customer Service Centre response. Skoda wanted the capability to automatically update retailer areas and locations and offer the customer more information on where the best retailer is situated according to their needs.

At the heart of the analysis is an up-to-date drive time database with over 25 million records. This system is integrated with Skoda’s Prospex mapping system so that changes to retailer locations and territories can be quickly and automatically communicated to the call centre. Previously this procedure was all done manually and proved to be time consuming.

For any service or sales enquiries, the Skoda Customer Service Centre can now refer callers to the retailer responsible for their Area or provide up to five alternatives ranked by drive time. By just entering the caller’s postcode, the new capability provides customers with the driving time and distance from the retailer, as well as the travel direction.

Chris Daniell, Skoda's Customer Care Manager said:

" The manual redistribution of postcodes following changes to the retail network was time consuming and prone to error. This new facility is more efficient, more accurate and allows us to provide our customers with more detailed information."

Skoda, part of the Volkswagen group, has seen UK sales increase by 80% in the last five years. The just- released Fabia has recently scooped "Car of the Year" title at What Car? Magazine awards reiterating Skoda's reputation for producing reliable, high quality, value for money cars.
